Who wants some sock tubes?! The phrase ‘sock tubes’ cracks me up but I don’t know what else to call them.🙊
Here’s how it works. Send me your long hoarded sock yarn (I’ll give you my address after you place your order), and I’ll knit it into tubes on my Erlbacher Gearhart sock machine for you. I’ll then pop them in the mail back to you along with your leftover yarn (plenty for cuffs, heels, and toes). When they arrive you can quickly knit your cuffs and toes by simply picking up stitches, removing the waste yarn, and knitting as you normally would. When you’re ready to knit the heels just do a simple afterthought heel. If you’ve never done one of those don’t worry, just search “no waste yarn afterthought heel” on YouTube and you’ll find some wonderful tutorials.
My machine knits socks with 64 stitches. I can adjust the tension for narrow to wide widths. If you’re worried about the fit please send me a message and we’ll figure it out!
Your sock tubes will arrive to you in one long piece. There will be obvious waste yarn at each end, and separating each sock. When you’re ready to start knitting, cut the socks apart along the middle of the waste yarn that separates them. If you have any questions along the way please send me a message. I’m happy to help!
